Banded Sorrow Lyrics:

Sympathy for the Ignorant:
Boom, Boom, Boom... You can put Christian lyrics to that thing and you've still got nothing but worship of the world
Destination: Unknown. Pointing fingers, throwing stones. Simple salvation made complex; replaced with your plan instead.
Chorus: All the pain, all the pain cannot outweigh what you mean to me.Innocence is superficial- a pendant that you wear. Your blasting horns and clanging cymbals. Is this the cross you bear? /Chorus/
Judgment comes from your mouth like water from the sea. Your constant misuse of faith continues to punish me.

Going Home:
As I walk among the masses keeping ever close to You. My tripping feet and I lift my head to you as I swim against the tide saying
Chorus: I'm going home, I'm going home, I'm going home. And I said just take my hand and lead.
Storm clouds gather all around me and they try to bring me down. With my weary feet, I begin to sink, then I hear a voice from the storm saying.
I'll take you home, I'll take you home, I'll take you home, and I said just take my hand and lead.
I'm going home...

That Dog:
If these walls could close their eyes, I might find some peace. That dog might eat what's left behind if I set him free. Looking for the treasure and I'm digging in the sand. Every time I get there, it just caves on in again.
I feel like that dog sitting with a leash under a tree Lord be my savior won't you come and set me free. I feel like that dog hounded by his ticks and all his fleas. Lord be my savior won't you come and set me free.
If my mind finds soberness, I might find some peace at last. Lord you are my soberness...

Mystery:
Smoky issues cloud my vision: man is killing man. A Christian brother kills another: where do I stand? I don't know about tomorrow I just try to live today. Footprints in the sand You carried me Lord. Have they all blown away?
Chorus: It's as likely as the chance of death bringing life. It's as likely as the chance of death bringing ... I don't know why, but I am satisfied. I don't know why, but I am satisfied
Ignorance, a friend of mine. I see your love Lord not far behind. Take my hand and comfort me. Heal my eyes Lord, help me see.

Timber:
Pardon me sir, I couldn’t help but notice that splinter in your eye. Wouldn't bother me so much but it’s getting in the way of mine.
Chorus: I know it hurts but you’ve got to take it one day at a time. I know it hurts but you;ve got to take the good with the bad so they say. (Mel sings: I know that you’re joking with me too. I see you smiling again when I tell you you’re wrong)
It feels kind of awkward? You’ll get use to it or numb should I say. We’re grand we think we stand, then timber, we come falling down.
chorus Got to get away from here. Lumberjacks are everywhere. Pardon me ma'am, couldn’t help but notice that timber in your eye.

Psalm:
Once I tripped upon the stake of my transgressions: left a pain deep inside. Understanding lead a life of no regression: left a scar mile wide.
Chorus: But you see me in a different light and lift me up so I'll be fine. You lead me through the winds so strong and put me back where I belong. That's why I thank you Lord.
Walking in your stride and breathing your salvation. Whom shall I fear? Understanding that You hold the hand of my tomorrow. That's why I have no fear. Knowing that you hold the hand of my tomorrow- that's why I have no fear.

Undealt:
She hangs her head in shame and thinks: here she is again. She wants a different name to separate her from this sin.
Chorus: Girl I love you and I always will. How you broke my heart out. But don't worry- My heart's big enough. Come on in, come on in.
Here he is again. Mr. guilt is at her door wearing a stupid grin bigger than the one before. Girl don't let him in. He'll only hurt you again.

Just a day:
Sometimes I feel like I could fly away but I know I must remain. My purpose lies in the road that I travel and your Word will light my way.
Chorus: And I know that I'm a long, long way from home and I know that Your love will take me there. On the wings of angels You deliver me and I thank you for this.
Jesus give me a heart that I can feel. Just let your love shine through me. You set before me the path of righteousness. Set my poor soul free.

This disc represents the best recording from our live shows only because it was recorded from the speaker “sweet-spot part of the audience by my Dad (Larry Smith). All other live recordings are not blended as well, so they are not on this CD. Nevertheless, all were important experiences for those four guys on stage. I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed playing it.

Biography:
On a providential February 8th 1996, four naive young men set off to make music. Within a few, brief moments that vision was met with our first song: “Going Home. What a satisfaction to see these children grow & find them in the eyes of our audience members. Starting with Rockport, TX on Halloween that same year, three shows at Travis Baptist church, a women’s conference, opening for Ghoti Hook, Texas Rockfest in Marble Falls, & finishing with a recording session at Javier’s house.
1996-1998
Today, Jeremy and his wife, Barbara live in Houston and Mel lives in Dallas. Dale and Greg with his wife Bridget live in Corpus Christi. Anthony, our favorite roadie now lives in Ingleside, TX.
